The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to resume its long-pending anti-encroachment drive in Kachipura, targeting 56 commercial establishments operating illegally on land belonging to Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) along Central Bazar Road. Dharampeth zone assistant municipal commissioner Rajkumar Meshram stated that the notices are being prepared and will be placed before senior officials for approval, after which proceedings will be taken up in accordance with law. This decisive move aims to reclaim nearly 19.82 hectares of government land, which has gradually transformed into a busy commercial belt despite its unauthorized status. धरमपेठ जोन के सहायक नगर आयुक्त राजकुमार मेश्राम ने बताया कि नोटिस तैयार किए जा रहे हैं और वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की मंजूरी के लिए रखे जाएंगे, जिसके बाद कानून के अनुसार कार्रवाई की जाएगी. इस निर्णायक कदम का उद्देश्य लगभग 19.82 हेक्टेयर सरकारी भूमि को वापस लेना है, जो अपनी अनधिकृत स्थिति के बावजूद धीरे-धीरे एक व्यस्त वाणिज्यिक क्षेत्र में बदल गई है. यह मामला 29 जून को उच्च न्यायालय के समक्ष भी आने वाला है, जो इस लंबे समय से चले आ रहे मुद्दे पर चल रही कानूनी जांच का संकेत देता है.
