Nagpur’s urban landscape received a significant boost with the inauguration of the 8.90-kilometer Indora-Dighori flyover, officially named the Dr. Keshav Balirampant Hedgewar Flyover. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, digitally inaugurated the Rs 998 crore project on Saturday, September 19. Further adding to its unique features, the project incorporates 22 murals based on the original text of the Constitution, installed at Ashok Chowk. The flyover’s opening is part of a broader infrastructure vision for Nagpur, which currently boasts 35 flyovers, with an additional 15 proposed to meet the city’s evolving needs.

This development aligns with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s recent announcement regarding ambitious plans for “New Nagpur.” Fadnavis outlined a strategy to develop a new central business district spanning approximately 2,000 acres near the Samruddhi Expressway. This “New Nagpur” is envisioned with modern infrastructure, similar to Gujarat’s GIFT City, and is designed to attract investments in emerging sectors, positioning Nagpur as a pivotal economic growth hub within Maharashtra. नागपुर के शहरी परिदृश्य को 8.90 किलोमीटर लंबे इंदोरा-दिघोरी फ्लाईओवर के उद्घाटन से महत्वपूर्ण बढ़ावा मिला है, जिसका आधिकारिक नाम डॉ. केशव बलिरामपंत हेडगेवार फ्लाईओवर रखा गया है। केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस के साथ मिलकर शनिवार, 19 सितंबर को 998 करोड़ रुपये की इस परियोजना का डिजिटल उद्घाटन किया। अल्ट्रा हाई परफॉर्मेंस फाइबर रीइन्फोर्स्ड कंक्रीट (UHPFRC) तकनीक का उपयोग करके निर्मित यह अत्याधुनिक फ्लाईओवर, इंदोरा और दिघोरी के बीच यात्रा के समय को लगभग एक घंटे से घटाकर मात्र 10-15 मिनट करने के लिए तैयार है।
