Beyond passenger services, the expansion plan includes developing Nagpur as a robust cargo and logistics hub. The project envisages a new cargo terminal with an annual handling capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes and a long-term cargo handling capacity target of 150,000 metric tonnes per year. Furthermore, approximately 100 hectares will be dedicated to Aerocity development, fostering commercial activity and non-aeronautical businesses. Future phases will see the construction of a second runway, a new Air Traffic Control tower, and enhanced power and water infrastructure to support sustained growth.
