Nagpur’s MIHAN SEZ Sees Significant Export Growth

Nagpur, Maharashtra – Exports from the Multi-modal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) have experienced a remarkable surge of nearly 40% in the financial year 2025-26, reaching Rs 9,626 crore. This growth signifies a robust performance for the region’s premier industrial hub. The primary drivers behind this impressive increase are major players in the aviation sector, including Dassault Reliance Aviation Limited (DRAL) and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), both actively involved in the manufacturing of aircraft components.

The financial year 2025-26 saw a notable increase in overall exports, with a total value of Rs 9,626 crore, compared to Rs 6,935 crore in the previous fiscal year 2024-25. While service exports experienced a slight dip, manufacturing and aviation-related exports demonstrated substantial growth. This expansion is attributed to various factors, including a favorable dollar exchange rate and increased global demand for components manufactured within the MIHAN SEZ.

Companies like Lupin Pharma also continue to be significant contributors to the manufacturing sector’s exports. The Mihan Industries Association noted that eased tariffs have further bolstered export figures. Beyond aviation components and pharmaceuticals, MIHAN also contributes to exports through items such as niger seeds and pulses, showcasing a diversified export base. The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), the developer of MIHAN, is actively in talks with potential new large-scale investors, indicating a promising future for continued growth and development within the SEZ.
