**Nagpur’s Infrastructure Gears Up for Transformation with Focus on Organized Markets and Parking**

Nagpur is on the cusp of a significant urban infrastructure overhaul, driven by a concentrated effort from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Recent high-level meetings have prioritized solutions to long-standing urban challenges, including traffic congestion, unregulated street vending, and a shortage of parking facilities. The initiative aims to create a more organized, commuter-friendly, and future-ready Nagpur. A key proposal is the development of organized markets in areas with populations exceeding one lakh, which is expected to reduce roadside encroachments, provide better facilities for vendors, and improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

The city is also set to tackle the persistent issue of unregulated street vending through the establishment of designated hawker zones. These zones will be equipped with proper sheds, drainage, lighting, and waste management systems, offering legal vending spaces to small traders. This move aims to provide a sustainable solution to the recurring cycles of eviction and re-encroachment. Furthermore, a significant directive has been issued to make parking facilities mandatory in all new construction projects, including commercial complexes, food markets, malls, and high-density urban areas. Modern, technology-based parking solutions are also being considered for space-constrained zones to mitigate future congestion.

In a broader infrastructure push, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is planning to construct a Metro Mall within 30 months, and the Nag river rejuvenation project has received central clearance. The Nagpur metro is also progressing, with 50% land acquired for its second phase. Additionally, the modernization of Nagpur and Amravati bus stations is planned, and three flyovers are slated to improve connectivity in east Nagpur, with MahaRail targeting a December deadline.

शहर अनियंत्रित सड़क विक्रेताओं की समस्या से निपटने के लिए नामित हॉकर जोन की स्थापना के माध्यम से भी कदम उठाएगा। इन क्षेत्रों में उचित शेड, जल निकासी, प्रकाश व्यवस्था और कचरा प्रबंधन प्रणाली की व्यवस्था होगी, जो छोटे व्यापारियों को कानूनी विक्रेता स्थान प्रदान करेगा। इस कदम का उद्देश्य बेदखली और पुनः अतिक्रमण के बार-बार होने वाले चक्रों का स्थायी समाधान प्रदान करना है। इसके अलावा, सभी नई निर्माण परियोजनाओं, जिनमें वाणिज्यिक परिसर, खाद्य बाजार, मॉल और घनी आबादी वाले शहरी क्षेत्र शामिल हैं, में पार्किंग सुविधाओं को अनिवार्य बनाने का एक महत्वपूर्ण निर्देश जारी किया गया है। भीड़भाड़ से बचने के लिए सीमित स्थान वाले क्षेत्रों में आधुनिक, प्रौद्योगिकी-आधारित पार्किंग समाधानों पर भी विचार किया जा रहा है।
