Nagpur’s Vidhan Bhavan Expansion Project Moves Forward with Substantial Funding

Nagpur is set to see a significant transformation with the approval of the Vidhan Bhavan expansion project. The Maharashtra Legislature Secretariat has greenlit a Rs 1,002.76-crore initiative that includes the construction of a new Legislature Building and Annex, alongside a 14-storey administrative tower. This ambitious project aims to modernize the existing legislative complex into a state-of-the-art center by 2028, with the tendering process expected to begin shortly.

The expansion project is divided into two phases. The first phase, focusing on the new Legislature Building and Annex, has been allocated Rs 662.98 crore. The second phase involves the development of the 14-storey administrative tower with a budget of Rs 339.78 crore. These figures represent a rationalized cost compared to earlier proposals, indicating a more efficient financial planning for the mega-initiative. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Town Planning, Planning, and Project Departments are collaborating with the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) and architect Hafeez Contractor on the finalization of tender documents.

In parallel, progress is being made on other key infrastructure developments within Nagpur. The Rs 2.5 billion twin flyover project on the Nagpur-Katol Road is nearing approval. This project aims to ease traffic congestion along the busy corridor by introducing two elevated corridors totaling 2.25 kilometers. Additionally, nine railway infrastructure projects across Maharashtra, including road overbridges, underbridges, and subways, worth approximately Rs 484 crore, have been inaugurated, further enhancing connectivity and safety. Nagpur is also benefiting from the inauguration of 910 affordable homes for sanitation workers under the Maharshi Sudarshan Balmiki Vasahat project, a development aimed at providing modern civic amenities and improving living conditions.

नागपुर में विधान भवन विस्तार परियोजना की मंजूरी के साथ एक महत्वपूर्ण परिवर्तन होने वाला है। महाराष्ट्र विधानमंडल सचिवालय ने 1,002.76 करोड़ रुपये की एक पहल को हरी झंडी दे दी है, जिसमें एक नई विधान भवन और अनुभाग भवन का निर्माण, साथ ही 14 मंजिला प्रशासनिक टावर शामिल है। इस महत्वाकांक्षी परियोजना का उद्देश्य 2028 तक मौजूदा विधायी परिसर को अत्याधुनिक केंद्र में बदलना है, जिसके लिए निविदा प्रक्रिया जल्द ही शुरू होने की उम्मीद है।

विस्तार परियोजना को दो चरणों में विभाजित किया गया है। पहले चरण में, नए विधान भवन और अनुभाग भवन पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है, जिसके लिए 662.98 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं। दूसरे चरण में 339.78 करोड़ रुपये के बजट के साथ 14 मंजिला प्रशासनिक टावर का विकास शामिल है। ये आंकड़े पिछली प्रस्तावों की तुलना में लागत को तर्कसंगत बनाते हैं, जो इस मेगा-पहल के लिए अधिक कुशल वित्तीय योजना का संकेत देते हैं। नागपुर नगर निगम के टाउन प्लानिंग, प्लानिंग और प्रोजेक्ट विभागों के साथ-साथ महाराष्ट्र राज्य अवसंरचना विकास निगम (MSIDC) और आर्किटेक्ट हाफिज कॉन्ट्रैक्टर, निविदा दस्तावेजों को अंतिम रूप देने पर सहयोग कर रहे हैं।

साथ ही, नागपुर में अन्य प्रमुख अवसंरचना विकासों पर भी प्रगति हो रही है। नागपुर-काटोल रोड पर 2.5 अरब रुपये की जुड़वां फ्लाईओवर परियोजना को मंजूरी मिलने वाली है। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य 2.25 किलोमीटर की दो एलिवेटेड गलियारों को पेश करके व्यस्त गलियारे के यातायात संकुलन को कम करना है। इसके अतिरिक्त, महाराष्ट्र में नौ रेलवे अवसंरचना परियोजनाओं, जिनमें रोड ओवर ब्रिज, अंडर ब्रिज और सबवे शामिल हैं, जिनकी अनुमानित लागत लगभग 484 करोड़ रुपये है, का उद्घाटन किया गया है, जिससे कनेक्टिविटी और सुरक्षा में और सुधार होगा। नागपुर को महर्षि सुदर्शन वाल्मीकि वासाहत परियोजना के तहत सफाई कर्मचारियों के लिए 910 किफायती घरों के उद्घाटन से भी लाभ हो रहा है, जो आधुनिक नागरिक सुविधाओं को प्रदान करने और रहने की स्थिति में सुधार लाने के उद्देश्य से एक विकास है।
