Officials noted that many developers secure building plan approvals under the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) by designating terrace areas for AC plant installations. However, subsequent inspections have revealed that these spaces are often converted for uses not sanctioned in the approved layouts. Dr. Itankar deemed this practice a serious violation of planning regulations and has directed the newly constituted survey teams to conduct thorough field inspections.

These teams have been tasked with verifying whether terrace AC plant rooms at construction sites comply with the approved building layouts and are required to submit a detailed report within 15 days. The Municipal Commissioner has issued a stern warning, stating that strict action will be taken under the provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966, against any developers or property owners found to be in violation of sanctioned building plans. इन टीमों को निर्माण स्थलों पर छत पर बने एसी प्लांट रूम अनुमोदित भवन लेआउट के अनुरूप हैं या नहीं, यह सत्यापित करने का कार्य सौंपा गया है और उन्हें 15 दिनों के भीतर एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करनी होगी. नगर आयुक्त ने कड़ी चेतावनी दी है कि महाराष्ट्र क्षेत्रीय और नगर नियोजन (एमआरटीपी) अधिनियम, 1966 के प्रावधानों के तहत, स्वीकृत भवन योजनाओं का उल्लंघन करने वाले किसी भी डेवलपर्स या संपत्ति मालिकों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी. एनएमसी ने सभी हितधारकों से शहर के भवन विनियमों का पालन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सर्वेक्षण दलों के साथ सहयोग करने की भी अपील की है.
