**Nagpur Municipal Corporation Presents Rs 6,202 Crore Budget for FY 2026-27, Prioritizing Infrastructure Without Tax Hikes**

Nagpur, Maharashtra – The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has presented its revised budget of Rs 6,202.48 crore for the financial year 2026-27. This budget marks a significant milestone as it is the first to be tabled by elected representatives since 2021, following the return of elected officials to the civic body’s budget-making process. In other developments, the Nagpur Metro’s Phase-II North Corridor is set to receive a significant boost with the Maharashtra cabinet’s approval for a 1.4 km extension to Kanhan town. This project, estimated at Rs 310.35 crore, aims to improve connectivity for an additional 20,000 daily passengers and will extend metro access to areas like Ramtek and the Mauda Super Thermal Power Project. Meanwhile, the Nagpur-Butibori Road will experience traffic diversions starting June 10 due to Maha-Metro’s Phase 2 pillar construction on NH-361.

शहर पुलिस सड़क सुरक्षा और अनुशासन को बेहतर बनाने पर भी ध्यान केंद्रित कर रही है। नए उप पुलिस आयुक्तों ने पुरानी यातायात बाधाओं को कम करने और सख्त सड़क अनुशासन लागू करने को प्राथमिकता दी है। ‘फुटपाथ फ्रीडम’ अभियान जैसी पहलें पैदल चलने वालों की सुरक्षा और सुगम यातायात सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अवैध पार्किंग और अतिक्रमण से निपटने का लक्ष्य रखती हैं। इसके अलावा, यातायात पुलिस मादक पदार्थों के सेवन से गाड़ी चलाने वाले ड्राइवरों का पता लगाने के लिए उन्नत दवा-परीक्षण मशीनें तैनात करने जा रही है, जो ऐसे उल्लंघनों को रोकने के लिए एक विशेष प्रवर्तन अभियान शुरू करेगी।
