**Nagpur Gears Up for Major Infrastructure Boost with Expressway and Airport Modernization Projects**

The State Infrastructure Committee has given the green light to expressways connecting Nagpur to Gondia, Chandrapur, and Bhandara-Gadchiroli, alongside the Navegaon More-Konsari to Surjagad Greenfield Road. These projects, spanning approximately 547 km, aim to enhance connectivity across Vidarbha, boost industrial growth, and position Nagpur as a key transportation hub.

In a parallel development, the Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the land lease for Nagpur International Airport, paving the way for its comprehensive modernization by GMR Nagpur International Airport Limited. This initiative is expected to significantly increase passenger and cargo handling capacities, aiming for an ultimate handling capacity of 30 million passengers annually and substantial enhancement of cargo capabilities. The modernization will strengthen regional connectivity and support the broader economic objectives of the MIHAN project.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has emphasized the need for timely and quality completion of various development projects across Nagpur, including those managed by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), MSIDC, and MIHAN. This oversight extends to urban infrastructure development, with directives to establish organized vegetable, meat, and fish markets, alongside designated hawker zones in densely populated areas.
