**Nagpur Unveils Ambitious ‘New Nagpur’ Urban Development Plan to Global Investors**

The Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has unveiled its ambitious ‘New Nagpur’ urban development program to a gathering of domestic and international investors. This includes underground utility tunnels, advanced district cooling systems, automated waste collection mechanisms, and ready-to-use commercial facilities. These purpose-built spaces are intended to cater to global capability centres, information technology companies, startups, and various micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

The robust financial framework underpinning this transformative initiative earmarks approximately ₹6,500 crore for land acquisition and infrastructure development specifically within ‘New Nagpur.’ An additional ₹4,800 crore has been designated for land requirements related to the Nagpur Outer Ring Road project. The NMRDA has secured state-owned NBCC as its project management and consulting partner and has also entered into an agreement with the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) to explore the proposed financing avenues. This initiative runs parallel to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) ongoing efforts to enhance the ‘Nagpur Safe and Smart City Project 2.0,’ for which the NMC intends to retain the expert services of Ernst & Young LLP, ensuring a continued focus on modern urban solutions and enhanced connectivity throughout the city.
